About

Lieve Lievens

Lieve graduated from Free University in Brussels, Belgium with a Master in Motorial Rehabilitation and Physiotherapy in 2003.

Her career in physiotherapy started in her own physiotherapy clinic in Belgium while studying a postgraduate degree in Osteopathy.

In 2012 Lieve made the big move to Australia where she has worked in several private practices, occupational rehabilitation and aged care.

Over the years Lieve continued learning and gained extensive experience in Woman’s Health Physiotherapy, Vertigo, dizziness and balance disorders and osteopathy.

Lieve has a passion for back and neck injuries, other musculoskeletal injuries, headaches,
woman’s health (incontinence & pelvic pain) and vertigo, dizziness and balance disorders.

She believes in a holistic way of treating injuries and is passionate about identifying the underlying cause of your injury to treat the cause and not the symptom.

Lieve has completed a Master's degree in Counselling in addition to her skill set in treating in a holistic way.

When Lieve is not working she loves to spend time with her family and enjoy the beauty of the underwater world.

Treatments

1

WOMAN'S HEALTH

Experiencing stress urinary incontinence, fecal incontinence, constipation, urgency, prolapse, pain with intercourse, pelvic pain, ... Don’t be embarrassed, we can help.

Lieve is passionate about helping women to get these issues under control. In an initial consultation, we identify the issue and commence personalised treatment.

Lieve is also passionate about helping women who experience pelvic pain and painful intercourse. Lieve focuses not only on the physical side of the pain but also addresses the impact on your mental health and relationship.

2

VERTIGO, DIZZINESS &
BALANCE DISORDERS

BPPV (Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo) is one of the most common causes of
dizziness.  Other causes can be vestibular neuritis, vertiginous migraines, mal-de-debarquement syndrome,... to just name a few.

Most causes of vertigo and dizziness can be treated. An initial assessment is conducted to determine the cause of your vertigo or dizziness and a personal treatment program will be provided.

3

BACK PAIN, NECK PAIN &
HEADACHES

Lieve believes in a holistic way to treat back pain, neck pain and headaches. She is passionate about identifying and treating the underlying cause.

To treat your back pain, neck pain and headaches Lieve will use a variety of techniques from massage techniques, triggerpoint releases, muscle energy techniques and joint mobilisations.

She also has experience in cranio-sacral therapy.

4

MUSCULOSKELETAL & SPORT INJURIES

Rehabilitation after surgery, rehabilitation after sport injuries, and all other pains and aches.

Restoring joint function and range of motion with a wide range of manual therapy techniques and individual exercise programs.

5

GENITO-PELVIC PAIN DISORDERS (GPPD)
An integrative approach. Physiotherapy and Counselling in one clinic are provided by the same practitioner.

When sex hurts ... Dyspareunia, vaginismus, vulvodynia, bladder pain syndrome, interstitial cystitis, endometriosis, ... can all cause pain with intercourse.

Overcome pain and achieve a healthy and fulfilling sex life

Lieve uses an integrated approach where both, the physical cause as well as the psychological cause, will be addressed.

In an initial session, we explore the possible causes of your pain and depending on our findings, a personalised treatment plan will be put together and discussed in detail to ensure you are comfortable with the steps suggested. This is usually a combination of physiotherapy and counselling. Follow-up sessions will initially be weekly or fortnightly depending on your individual needs and progress.

Fees

Initial consultation                   $95

Follow-up consultation           $85

Long follow-up consultation   $100

HEALTH FUND REBATES

Health fund rebates are available through HealtPoint.
Most health fund cards are accepted to claim on the spot,
which leaves only the gap to pay.

CHRONIC DISEASE MANAGEMENT PLANS (EPC)

Due to the increasing cost of running a business, I am unable to bulk bill EPC treatments. The EPC will offer you a rebate of $58.30 and therefore a gap payment of $36.70 (for initial consultation) or $26.70 (for follow-up consultation) will be required to be paid.

CANCELLATIONS & FAILING TO ATTEND YOUR APPOINTMENT

A reminder for your appointment is sent out 24 hours before your appointment. A $50 fee will be involved in case of a cancellation less than 12 hours before your appointment.

If you however miss your appointment without any notice the full appointment fee will be charged. This fee will be required to be paid before the start of your next appointment.
