About

Lieve graduated from the Australian Institute of Professional Counsellors with a Master's in counselling in 2024. Lieve, also a physiotherapist, acknowledges the importance of a healthy mind in a healthy body and the impact of physical problems on mental health and vice versa. This was her main drive to broaden her knowledge and add counselling services to her clinic.

Lieve as a physiotherapist, with a particular focus on women's and sexual health, has observed a significant reluctance among individuals experiencing conditions like vaginismus and other pain-related issues during intercourse to seek mental health assistance. Lieve intends to address the high barrier to seeking support for issues like vaginismus and pain during intercourse by combining counselling and physiotherapy services in a single location, provided by the same practitioner. Her goal is to minimize obstacles and offer personalised, comprehensive care that caters to both the physical and psychological aspects of each individual's needs.

Lieve recognizes the connection between physical pain and mental well-being. She aims to help individuals cope with the effects of pain on symptoms like anxiety and depression, and life in general, offering support to manage the overall impact on their mental health.

Also for other mental health-related issues Lieve's door is wide open and aims to assist you in working through any struggles that cross your path in life, such as stress, anxiety, depression, sexual issues, grief and loss, ... and so much more.

When Lieve is not working she enjoys spending time with her family and discovering the beauty of the underwater world.

Stress

Anxiety and Depression

Sexuality

Sexual issues and curiosities

Grief and loss

Personal worries

Chronic Pain

Chronic pain can have a large and lasting impact on mental health, creating a complex interplay between physical discomfort and emotional well-being. The persistent nature of pain can lead to heightened stress, anxiety, and depression, as you wrestle with the challenges of daily life while managing ongoing discomfort. The constant struggle against pain can contribute to feelings of frustration, helplessness, and isolation, further exacerbating mental health issues. Sleep disturbances, fatigue, and mood changes are common companions to chronic pain, influencing your overall quality of life. Addressing both the physical and emotional aspects of chronic pain is crucial for a comprehensive approach to well-being, emphasizing the interconnected relationship between physical and mental health in the pursuit of a balanced and fulfilling life.

With chronic pain, initially, we explore possible causes and depending on our findings we put a personalised treatment plan together with you which consists of a combination of physiotherapy and counselling.

Genito-Pelvic Pain Disorder (GPPD)

When sex hurts ... Dyspareunia, vaginismus, vulvodynia, bladder pain syndrome, interstitial cystitis, endometriosis, ... can all cause pain with intercourse.

Overcome pain and achieve a healthy and fulfilling sex life

Lieve uses an integrated approach where both, the physical cause as well as the psychological cause, will be addressed.

In an initial session, we explore the possible causes of your pain and depending on our findings, a personalised treatment plan will be put together and discussed in detail to ensure you are comfortable with the steps suggested. This is usually a combination of physiotherapy and counselling. Follow-up sessions will initially be weekly or fortnightly depending on your individual needs and progress.

Zenith Mind & Body provide a safe and inclusive space for everyone, embracing individuals of all sexual orientations, gender identities (LGBTQIA+), those with diverse interests and lifestyles (kink-friendly), and individuals from various cultural and religious backgrounds.
